Intro.

Hiya I'm Linzi Clark and I was in the Variety Show 2003. I thought the show was a great success, more than we could have ever hoped for! I enjoyed performing on stage and I think it has made me more confident!

The opening act was Fame, and despite the fact that rehearsals for this had dragged on a bit and we were a bit worried, it actually went pretty well and we got a good response from the audience. Charlotte, Fiona and Laura were great at their solos and hey, I'm not boasting but I THINK I did a bit better than I expected to! I almost managed to get the note I was REALLY worried about before the show. But the best part of Fame was definitely the auditions...Go Richard and Gez your dance is the best, it's my favourite pic!

next....

Next on stage was It's Not Unusual, performed by Michael McDougall and Liam Roberton. They were absolutely fantastic, way nicer than Tom Jones any day (pity they're a bit young!) I'm so happy because at the end when the girls were throwing their thongs (as you do), I had asked someone to throw boxers from the boys changing room and they all too willingly obliged!!! But moving swiftly on.....
It's amazing where the dirt comes fae intit!! Me, Mary Morgan and Laura Molloy pulled on our head scarf's and curlers (or in my case a bubble cut wig as Doreen!!) and went back to '60s Glesga in The Steamie. Despite the fact that the first night I didn't quite get my headscarf on in time, and the second night Laura forgot her basin in true Magrit style, we were really well received both nights. Not bad for months of studying our grandmothers and their daft conversations with their pals!

Next was Gregory's Girl which was great. I didn't actually see this on stage but judging from watching the rehearsals it was brilliant!!! there were two different casts; the first night it was GREGORY: Richard/Chris , DOROTHY: Charlotte/Sammi, ERIC(A): Christine/Carly and Tony was great as GORDON both nights. There wasn't a better cast; both were brilliant!
Next was Fiona Toner's I DREAMED A DREAM from LES MISERABLES. She was absolutely brilliant as always!
And next was one of my favourite parts of the show: The boys dancing!!! Seriously though 'Bad Guys' from Bugsy Malone was amazing and I really wish I could have been in it, oh well at least I got a chance to help in one of the rehearsals and I got to wear the nice hat and tie! Tony was brilliant as FAT SAM, especially since he learned loads of lines at really short notice!

During the break, Laura J attacked me with the pink make-up, I think she was enjoying her only chance probably EVER to do so! Tell you why in a minute..
ACT TWO started with Charlotte and Kelly singing make-over. Great both nights!
Next was The Man In the Mask (DUN DUN DUUUUUN!!!). I don't care what anyone says, Sharpy and Ross are great script writers (I mean come on I got to have Gez in a headlock!!!) and although this went a bit wrong, I think the fact we hadn't really much time to work on this caused that and I think it was great. “The Salmon Song” and 'Somebody Kill Me Please' are my new fav. songs!
Slave was great. I think...well I didn't actually see it.
Come Up And See Me (Make Me Smile) .. I was at the side of the stage listening to this, and can i just say very few songs hav me in tears...this did. Of Laughter. Na only joking, Ross and Carly were tremendous and this is one of my favourite songs ever. Ross is a brilliant guitarist..and Jonny is an amazing mike stand mover!!!!
And last but definately not least ! The Lion King...Chris your script was brilliant...pity it was very rarely stuck to!!! The Lion King involved a lot of stuffed toys, such as a leopard, a monkey, and Andy. Well done with the hilarious adlibs about the incompetent stage crew. All in all, the show was a great success. There were many high parts and not one low one!
